The Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Split is organizing the 30th International Theological Symposium titled "THE ROLE OF THEOLOGY IN SPIRITUALITY OF CROATIAN PEOPLE IN TIMES OF TRANSITION FROM COMMUNISM TO DEMOCRACY", which will be held in the main hall of the Faculty, 1st floor (Zrinsko-Frankopanska 19, Split), on October 17th and 18th, 2024. The symposium will feature 17 speakers from abroad, other institutions and universities in Croatia, and from the Faculty itself.
This is the 30th symposium in a continuous series hosted by our institution, and it is a great honor to have such a long tradition of scientific gatherings that began shortly after the democratic changes and the establishment of the independent state of Croatia. Even then, the intention of the initiators was for theology and theologians to actively contribute to the creation of the new Croatian society, built on the solid foundations of sound philosophical and theological reflection, and to make their contribution to the common project of improving Croatian society through these gatherings and the selection of topics.
The goal of this symposium is to examine the processes and changes that have occurred in society, which have also had repercussions on the Church, its condition, and the shaping of the spirituality and mentality of believers.
